Homestays
The homestays are among the most important features of the Hamilton College program. All homes have been visited and carefully inspected, and every effort has been made to ensure that each family has a sincere interest in getting to know students. Only host families who receive high recommendations from former students continue from year to year.
To ensure that students are placed with a family that best suits their needs, they must fill out a confidential housing questionnaire.
You will receive three meals per day, which includes a Spanish breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Spanish cuisine is varied and delicious! We encourage you to try as many dishes that you can. Nevertheless, please do not hesitate to notify the family about the food you prefer or would not prefer to eat. If you do not plan to eat at home, be sure to tell your host family at least 24h in advance so that they can prepare you a bag lunch.
Every home is equipped with wifi. Computer access is provided as part of the program but most students bring with them a personal laptop computer. Wifi spots can be found throughout Madrid. All homes are located within walking distance of public transportation.
The program does not provide room and board during winter vacation” and “Students may remain with their Spanish families during Spring Break if they inform their families at least one month in advance about their plans.
