  • Apple Watch: Series 1 or later, and watchOS 5.2 or later
  • Android: version 5.0 or later

Setting up Mobile Credential on Apple iPhone or Watch

  2. Swipe through the four introductory screens and tap Get Started.
  3. Search for Hamilton College and click through to the login screen.
  4. Log in with your Hamilton credentials.
  5. Next, enter your Login Code to authenticate your device.
  6. Once you’ve authenticated, you’ll see your Hill Card account along with any related transaction history.
  7. Click the Add to Apple Wallet button at the top right to add your Hill Card. You can provision credentials for your iPhone and your Apple Watch (one of each per student).
    1. Click iPhone and continue through the prompts (Next, Agree to Terms & Conditions).
    2. When the process is complete, the app will send a notification to verify your Hill Card has been added to the Wallet.
    3. Tap Done in the upper right corner to return to the Home screen of the app.
    4. You can now add your Apple Watch using the same process.

Using Mobile Credential on your Apple Device

  • Your device must be powered on, but it does not have to be connected to a network. Some devices (iPhone X models) will still work for a period of time after your battery has been depleted.
  • The Hill Card readers are sensitive to the position of your device. Hold the top of your iPhone near a reader to use your Hill Card, or your Apple Watch near the reader.
  • For iPhones released after the 6/6 Plus, Express Mode allows you to use your Hill Card without unlocking the device with a passcode, Touch ID or Face ID. Just tap your device against the reader to recognize your Hill Card. For iPhone 6/6 Plus, you’ll need to double-click the Home button, tap your default payment card and select your Hill Card. Verify your identity with Touch ID then hold the top of your phone near the reader.
  • To display your Hill Card, open Apple Wallet and select your Hill Card from your saved cards.
  • To add funds to your accounts in the eAccounts app, save a payment method in Hill Card Online first. Make a deposit via your desktop or mobile browser and once you’ve completed the deposit, there will be an option to save your credit card information. Once you have added the card information in Hill Card Online, that card  will be available in the eAccounts app for future deposits. If you’ve already used eAccounts to access your mobile credential, you’ll need to sign out and back in to update the saved payment information.
  • Contact information for the Hill Card Office is also available from the Hill Card menu in the Apple Wallet.

Setting up Mobile Credential on Android

  1. NFC needs to be available on your phone and active for Hill Card Mobile. If you’re not sure if your phone has NFC and if it’s enabled, go to your Settings menu and look for NFC. It may be under Connected Devices> Connection Settings on some phones. (If you can’t find it, use the search option on the top right to double check.) Once you find it, toggle the setting to On.
  2. Next, open Google Pay and make sure it’s enabled as well. If you don’t have Google Pay on your phone, you can download it free in the Play Store. If the app prompts you to add a credit card, you can bypass that screen and return to the Google Pay home screen.
  3. Download the eAccounts app from Transact Campus and install it.
  4. Open eAccounts, click through the start up prompts and tap Get Started.
  5. Find Hamilton College and continue to the login screen.
  6. Log in with your Hamilton credentials and enter your Login Code to authenticate your device.
  7. Once you’ve successfully authenticated, you’ll see your Hill Card account along with any related transaction history.
  8. Click the Add to Google Pay button to add your Hill Card to the Google Wallet.
    1. Continue through the prompts and accept the Hamilton College Terms and Conditions
    2. Next, accept the Google Pay terms of service
    3. The next screen will confirm your Hill Card has been added to Google Pay

Using Mobile Credential on Android

  • You don’t need to unlock your phone, but the screen must be awake to use your Hill Card. Tap the power button to wake the screen and tap your phone against the reader. Note, the antenna location may vary by device, but is often in the middle of the phone. You may have to experiment with your phone to find the correct tap location to recognize your mobile credential.
  • To display your Hill Card, open the eAccounts app and select the View in Google Pay icon.
