Our mission is to provide an excellent level of personal service across all modalities of treatment, kinds of interactions, and constituencies being served. In doing so, we value three main components in our work: trust, respect and connection.

Our Approach

We recognize that we are responsible for actions that lead to our clients respecting us as fellow human beings, trusting that we provide a safe and connected relationship, and creating an environment in which our clients are equal partners in a collaborative relationship that reciprocates those same values. We strive to provide a diverse array of embodied approaches to therapy, and to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

In accomplishing this mission, we value approaching our work and ourselves in ways that reflect the complexity of being human. This is reflected in the different approaches to therapy offered by our staff, the styles and qualities of the therapists who offer those approaches, and in the value we place on intersectional rather than reductionistic ways of conceptualizing human differences.

This value is also reflected in our staff members' commitment to serving all of Hamilton's students. We strive to understand and connect across differences of life experience, and value our identities and our students' identities deeply. We understand that we all represent a rich tapestry of human experience that contains specific critical issues that impact our individual lives. While we understand that we cannot be all things to all people, we do hope to serve our students well by providing a safe, confidential, connected environment to enhance their experience of this time in their lives.

Privacy & Records

Confidentiality is the foundation of our work. Records created and maintained by this department are considered student treatment records and the student’s privacy of such information is governed by federal and state laws. Unless specifically authorized by law or required by court order, private medical or counseling information and student treatment records will not be shared or released without the consent of the student.
