  • The Defense Research Institute (DRI) - The Voice of the Defense Bar, an international organization of 22,000 civil defense trial counsel, commercial litigation attorneys and corporate counsel, has named Henry Sneath '80 president-elect. Sneath previously served as both second and first vice-president of DRI, as a member of the Board of Directors, and as chair of the Commercial Litigation and Public Policy Committees. He received the DRI Most Outstanding Committee Chair Award. He will automatically be elevated to president of DRI in Oct. 2011.

Genton, as well as colleagues and interns, addressed students about their work in the embassy.

  • Charter Trustee Richard Bernstein '80 returned to the Hill on March 5 to address Chris Georges's macro theory and Erol Balkan's international finance classes on the current global economic climate, and offer a few tips for members of the Class of 2010 who are about to enter the work force. Bernstein, who is currently teaching classes at New York University, is CEO of Richard Bernstein Capital Management LLC. He was formerly Merrill Lynch's chief investment strategist.

  • Rich Bernstein '80 has been named a trustee of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is a philanthropic, not-for-profit grantmaking institution based in New York City.  At Hamilton, Bernstein was a member of the Emerson Literary Society and majored in economics. He went on to earn his MBA in finance from NYU. Currently a Hamilton College Charter Trustee, Bernstein is the CEO of Richard Bernstein Capital Management and an adjunct associate professor at the NYU/Stern Graduate School of Business. He is the former chief investment strategist and head of Merrill Lynch’s Investment Strategy Group.

  • John L. Murad Jr. '80, a partner with the Syracuse law firm Hancock & Estabrook LLP, has been appointed to the State University of New York Board of Trustees. SUNY is the nation's largest public university system. Murad was nominated for the position by Gov. David Paterson, and his nomination was confirmed by the New York State Senate June 3.
