Hancock Estabrook, LLP has proudly announced that Cora A. Alsante '85 and John L. Murad, Jr. '80 have been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America for 2011.
Alsante is a partner at Hanock Estabrook, LLP and leader of the Firm's Elder Law Practice Group. Her practice is focused on estate planning, trusts, planning for the elderly and disabled, and estate and trust administration. She is a former Chair of the New York State Bar Association's Elder Law section, former President of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law, and former Adjunct Professor at Syracuse University College of Law. She is also a Fellow of The American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and was recently named one of the top 25 female lawyers in Upstate New York for 2010 by Super Lawyers. Alsante majored in Philosophy at Hamilton, graduating with honors, and earned her Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo Law School in 1988.
Murad is a partner at the Firm, a member of its Executive Committee and served as Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department for over nine years. His practice concentrates on product liability, health care defense, commercial disputes, and environmental litigation. He was named to Best Lawyers in 2010 and to New York Super Lawyers in 2007, 2008, and 2009. He was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2005. Murad also currently serves as a Trustee of the State University of New York, where he chairs its Academic Medical Centers and Hospitals Committee. At Hamilton, Murad was a member, and President, of Chi Psi. He majored in Government and History and graduated cum laude and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University in 1983.
