The Defense Research Institute (DRI) - The Voice of the Defense Bar (www.dri.org ), an international organization of 22,000 civil defense trial counsel, commercial litigation attorneys and corporate counsel, has named Henry Sneath '80 president-elect. Sneath previously served as both second and first vice-president of DRI, as a member of the Board of Directors, and as chair of the Commercial Litigation and Public Policy Committees. He received the DRI Most Outstanding Committee Chair Award. He will automatically be elevated to president of DRI in Oct. 2011.
Sneath is a principal shareholder at the Pittsburgh law firm Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C. (www.psmn.com) and specializes in commercial, intellectual property, pharmaceutical and products liability and insurance coverage litigation. He has been named among the "Best Lawyers in America" for commercial litigation and "Pennsylvania Super Lawyers" for business litigation. He is a member of the American and Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Associations and of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. He was chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Intellectual Property Section and previously edited the PBA Civil Litigation Section newsletter magazine.
At Hamilton, Sneath majored in English Literature and Economics with a minor in Rhetoric. He played men's squash. He went on to Duquesne University, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1983.
