Course Description: | Theoretical and empirical study of human resource management including: the choice of the form of labor compensation (e.g. fixed wage, salary, piece rates and other forms of pay for performance); the effects on firm performance of employee involvement programs (e.g., self-directed teams) and of financial participation schemes (e.g., profit sharing and employee stock ownership); hiring; training; promotions; and the level and structure of executive compensation and corporate governance. |
