Presidential Search Update

Dear Members of the Hamilton Community,

We hope this message finds you well as the semester comes to a close. The presidential search continues to progress. The members of the search committee have been working diligently and collaboratively, and we deeply appreciate their continued dedication. We are impressed with the caliber of applicants, and in turn, they seem to be enjoying their interactions with the broad range of constituents on the search committee.

We are looking forward to next steps as we learn more about the candidates and prepare to make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees in the New Year. Although it was common practice years ago, it is now very rare for presidential candidates to meet with campus constituents outside of a presidential search committee. Given this common practice at public and private colleges across the country, our search firm has advised us confidentiality is necessary to recruit and retain the strongest applicants who are already in prominent leadership positions; accordingly the search will remain confidential until the next president is announced.
