Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Organic)
The Chemistry Deparmtent invites applications for a one-year visiting position in organic chemistry at the rank of assistant professor. The appointment officially begins on July 1, 2014 but formal responsibilities begin in mid-August. Anticipated primary teaching responsibilities will be in the lecture and lab sections of the sophomore level organic chemistry courses and in the Research Methods course. The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to direct student research projects. Applicants must possess a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field and be committed to undergraduate education, have an interest in teaching a diverse student population, and demonstrate excellence, or the potential for excellence, in teaching and research with undergraduates.
