Derek Jones, the Irma M. and Robert D. Morris Professor of Economics, presented two papers at the 13th meeting of the International Association for the Economics of Participation held at Oñati, Spain from July 12 - 15.

The first paper titled "Wages and Ownership Structure: Evidence from a Panel of Bulgarian Firms" was co-authored with Associate Professor of Economics Jeff Pliskin and Qi Ge '06.

Jones also presented a second paper co-authored with Mikko Makinen and Panu Kalmi titled "The Nature and Effects of Organizational Innovations in Finnish Manufacturing Firms: Preliminary Findings from a New Survey" during the meeting.

Both Jones and Pliskin chaired other program sessions at the conference, and both were elected to the organizing body of the International Association for the Economics of Participation. Pliskin, elected vice president of the association, will be responsible for organizing the program for the next meeting of the association which has been provisionally planned for July 2008 at Hamilton College.
