The Hamilton College film and lecture series, Forum for Images and Languages in Motion (F.I.L.M.), presents young Japanese independent film and video artist, Shiho Kano, on Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m. in Hamilton College's Kirner-Johnson Auditorium.  The event is free and open to the public.

Kano will present her short films and videos, Rocking Chair (2000), Incense (2002) and Rose-Colored Flower (2002).  Working with subtleties of sound and image, Kano offers moments of quiet reflection, perceptual discovery and cinematic magic.

On Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. the F.I.L.M. Series concludes with the screening of Shirin Neshat's short film Passage (2001). Several of Neshat's other short films will also be presented. Following the screenings the filmmaker will comment on her experiences as an Iranian women living in the West and the impact her heritage has had on her work.

The F.I.L.M. Series is supported by the Mary and Elihu Root Faculty Innovation Fund, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty and the Kirkland Endowment.
