  • The Hamilton College Orchestra, conducted by Heather Buchman, will perform its final concert of the season on Friday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m., at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

  • The Hamilton College and Community Masterworks Chorale and Hamilton College Choir with Symphoria will perform Antonin Dvorák’s Requiem on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

  • The Theatre Department's presentation of Our Town, directed by Professor Craig Latrell, continues this week. Performances will run Wednesday, April 22 – Saturday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m.  in the new state-of-the-art Romano Theatre within the Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts.

  • The Hamilton College Theatre Department presents Our Town by Thornton Wilder as its Spring Theater Production. Performances will run Thursday, April 16 – Saturday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, April 22 – Saturday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. A matinee will be performed on Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m. All performances take place in the new state-of-the-art Romano Theatre within the Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts.

  • Hamilton continues its celebration of April Jazz Appreciation Month with a performance by jazz vocalist Janis Siegel with pianist Rick Montalbano on Sunday, April 12, at 7 p.m., in the Fillius Events Barn.  The event, sponsored by the Fillius Jazz Archive and hosted by Monk Rowe, is free and open to the public.

  • Hamilton College Performing Arts concludes the 2014-15 Performing Arts Series with Laurie Anderson presenting The Language of the Future on Saturday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.

  • Hamilton students in the New York City Program attended the premiere of a new New York Philharmonic symphony by John Adams, “Scheherazade.2-Dramatic Symphony for Violin and Orchestra,” on March 27 in Avery Fischer Hall.

  • The Hamilton College Choir, conducted by G. Roberts Kolb, will present the home concert of its recently completed spring break tour on Wed., April 8, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

  • April will bring us a reprieve from the weather and an annual celebration of an original American art form. In 2001, the Smithsonian Museum of American History designated April as Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM). Schools and cultural institutions across the country host concerts and workshops to highlight our musical gift to the world. Further information about JAM can be found at www.smithsonianjazz.org. Jazz is alive and well at Hamilton College where the Fillius Jazz archive resides. We will join the JAM celebration with a number of campus events listed below.
