Over winter break, Hamilton College’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program sent seven students to Baton Rouge, La., as ASB’s first ever winter break trip. The students went to help local residents recover from the disastrous flash flood this past August.

"I write with the very sad news that Lecturer in Communication Tom Phelan suffered a heart attack this morning and passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Professor Catherine Phelan, and family."

Students, faculty and staff gathered on Monday, Jan. 16, in the Fillius Events Barn to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Participants shared a dinner of some of King’s favorite foods and engaged in conversation about King’s inspiring words and viewpoints.
