Course Description:

This course examines the relationship between racism, racial discrimination, and racial inequality in the US. It investigates how institutions, culture, and social interactions are deeply informed by race and reproduce the structures of inequality that impact the life chances of all people. Through rigorous reading and discussion, students will gain a critical understanding of racism and consider the various ways groups have struggled against racial oppression.
