The James R. Andrews Scholarship
The James R. Andrews Scholarship was established by a bequest from James D. Andrews in memory of his son James R. Andrews ’88.
This fund was established with a bequest from the Estate of James Donald Andrews PP ’88.
Mr. Andrews was the father of James R. Andrews, a member of Hamilton’s Class of 1988. James R. “Jim” Andrews was a geologist and ice climber who died in a climbing accident in 1994.
James D. Andrews established his estate plan, including a provision for this scholarship following his son’s death. His Will stated, “to be used for scholarships for students majoring in Geology, then to be used as a general scholarship.” Mr. Andrews was predeceased by his wife Jean in 2009.
