This Fund is established by Jeff McMahon, Class of 1997, and Lindsey (Schantz) McMahon, Class of 2003, in honor of Jeff’s grandmother, Rebecca M. McMahon, who was an influential figure in Jeff’s life.

Rebecca “Marge” McMahon grew up in the Catskills area of Greenville, New York where she was high school valedictorian and captain of her basketball team. She developed a passion for drawing and painting early in life, which eventually led her to attend Syracuse University’s School of Fine Arts. She graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse where she met her future husband, Dr. Robert F. McMahon, who was enrolled in the medical school as a Lieutenant in the Navy.

After marrying, Mrs. McMahon followed her husband to several Navy bases during WWII. They later settled in Syracuse, NY to raise their four children. Mrs. McMahon was an active member of the Ladies’ Home Bureau, President of the Women’s Medical Auxiliary, and continued to paint and draw in her free time.

Once her children were school-aged, Mrs. McMahon became a designer for Syracuse China’s fine china department. She went on to serve as a commercial artist for the Pass & Seymour Company until she retired. Following retirement, Mrs. McMahon was a free-lance artist until age 75. During these years, she actively supported the local Ronald McDonald House by auctioning off her pen and ink drawings. In 2004, Mrs. McMahon was diagnosed with ALS and died shortly after at the age of 84. She is fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Jeff McMahon graduated from Hamilton in 1997. He was a Neuroscience major and a member of the Doers and Thinkers Honor Society. Jeff went on to receive his MBA from Cornell University and is a successful serial entrepreneur and angel investor in the marketing technology field. He is currently the CEO of Voicify.

Lindsey (Schantz) McMahon graduated from Hamilton in 2003 with a major in Psychology. She was the Varsity Tennis Captain and was named Division III All-American and NESCAC Tennis Sportswoman of the Year in 2003. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology, with a minor in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, from The Pennsylvania State University. Lindsey went into the field of corporate marketing, where she was most recently Manager for Global Consumer and Business Insights at Dunkin Brands.

Jeff and Lindsey reside in Weston, MA with their two daughters.
