The Morgan Family Fund
The Morgan Family Fund, established in 1999 by Susannah Morgan, Kirkland College Class of 1972, and her husband, James A. Morgan, Jr., Class of 1971, provides financial support (either through scholarships or tutorials) to students with learning challenges.
Susannah “Sue” Morgan, majored in history, graduating from Kirkland College as a member of the College’s charter class in 1972. She went on to earn a master of divinity degree from the General Theological Seminary in 2012. Sue has been director and trustee of the YWCA in Bergen City, New Jersey, and a member of the Project Pride Committee for Image of Ridgewood, also in New Jersey. Sue served as a Hamilton Alumni Trustee and has co-chaired Hamilton’s Annual Fund alongside her husband.
Jim Morgan graduated from Hamilton with a B.A. in geology in 1971. During his time on the Hill, he was active in several extracurricular activities including football, student assembly, theatre, and WHCL. He earned an M.B.A. from Rutgers University. As an Alumni Trustee, Jim served on the budget & finance committee and the planning committee. Jim has volunteered at the Career Center, working through Handshake to assist students in search of internships. Jim retired in October 2010 as CFO at Young Broadcasting, Inc., which owns a number of television stations, including ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates. He recently established a children's bookstore in Glen Rock, NJ, which he co-manages with his daughter, Sarah. The Morgans' son, James, is Class of 2004.
