The Reid W. Kittell Scholarship
The Reid W. Kittell Scholarship was established in 1989 by the family and friends of Reid Kittell, Class of 1988, in his memory. It is awarded to a well-rounded student who demonstrates sensitivity and thoughtfulness for others in the community.
A member of Chi Psi fraternity, Reid Kittell graduated from Hamilton in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He died in 1989 after an extended illness. Family and friends describe Reid as a student who possessed a rare “balance”: he was an athlete who did well academically, and he was a “thoughtful, sensitive person who was always helpful to others.” His father Donald Kittell, Class of 1959, noted proudly that Reid could have won a “good guy award.”
