The Stephanie Singleton and Lester C. Huested Scholarship
The Stephanie Singleton and Lester C. Huested Scholarship was established in 1989 by Stephanie Singleton Huested, wife of Lester C. Huested, Class of 1929, in honor of Dr. Huested, as well as Mrs. Huested's first husband, Harry H. Singleton.
Lester C. Huested was born in Somerville, Massachusetts. He entered Hamilton in 1924, majored in biology, and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. After graduating in 1929, he earned his M.D. from Albany Medical College and by 1940, he had opened a private surgical practice in Glens Falls, New York, where he worked until his retirement 24 years later. He was interested in ornithology and particularly in photographing birds. He died in 1992.
