The Sean C. Delaney Scholarship
The Sean C. Delaney Scholarship, established by friends and classmates of Sean C. Delaney, Class of 1980, is awarded with preference given to a rising sophomore who demonstrates campus citizenship, positive influence on others, and intellectual passion.
Sean C. Delaney was born in New London, Connecticut. He entered Hamilton in 1976, where he double majored in English literature and creative writing – several of his poems were published in the campus literary magazine, Red Weather. He was also a member of the cross-country and track teams. After graduating, Sean earned a J.D. degree from Vermont Law School in 1986 and then established a practice in Connecticut, specializing in environmental law. Sean was a successful competitive runner, finishing first-place in several races including the New London Sailfest. He passed away in 2000 after an extended illness.
