Because Hamilton [Reaches Its Goal]

I am delighted to announce that the goal for the Because Hamilton campaign has been reached. More than 29,000 alumni, parents, employees, and friends contributed over $400 million – and counting – including more than $120 million for student scholarship aid, our top priority. This is the largest fundraising campaign in the College’s history and is more than double the amount raised in any previous campaign.
Many of the priorities identified in the campaign are already being implemented with the donations that have been received. These include:
- six endowed professorships, including two in computer science;
- the Johnson Center for Health and Wellness and programs to support student well-being;
- new and spectacularly renovated facilities for the humanities, recreation, and athletics;
- the ALEX and Common Ground programs;
- Digital Hamilton; and
- efforts to support diversity, equity, and inclusion, including hiring the College’s first vice president for DEI.
Donors responded most enthusiastically to our need to increase endowed funds for student scholarship aid to ensure access and opportunity for all qualified students.
Final results will be shared soon after Because Hamilton concludes on June 30. The quality of the facilities, the depth of the programs, and, most importantly, the ability to attract talented people to live, work, and study on College Hill are all possible because of the financial support we receive from loyal donors dedicated to making Hamilton one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country.
With gratitude,
David
