
Allie Massaro '07 posted eight kills, four service aces and sixteen digs to help lead visiting Hamilton College to a non-conference win against Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, N.Y., on Oct. 18.
Massaro is third all-time at Hamilton with 1,063 digs. She leads the Continentals with 37 aces this year and is fourth on the program's career list with 141.
Amber O'Connor '09 led the Hamilton defense with 21 digs. O'Connor is fifth in the New England Small College Athletic Conference with 5.06 digs per game. Kristen Selden '09 hammered seven kills while Jasmine Jolly '10 added six to go with three blocks. Chelsea Halvorson '08 pounded six kills and Julia Penrose '09 was credited with 26 assists. Penrose has 519 assists this year.
The Continentals (8-14 overall) won in three straight games by scores of 30-19, 30-28, 32-30. Cazenovia dropped to 5-14 with the loss. Hamilton jumped out to an early 10-point lead and cruised to an easy victory in the first game. The Wildcats led 29-26 in the deciding game, but the Continentals rallied for six of the final seven points to clinch the match.
Hamilton takes on Russell Sage College and Ramapo College at the Skidmore College Classic in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Friday, Oct. 20.
