2007 All-American Akilah Bond '09 finished runner-up in the long jump and the triple jump as Hamilton College placed seventh in the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships at St. Lawrence University's Newell Field House on Feb. 29 and March 1.

Bond leaped 5.09 meters (16-feet-8½) in the long jump and recorded a mark of 11.26 meters (36-feet-11½) in the triple. She was the anchor leg on an 800-meter relay that set a school record and qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships with a time of 1:48.40. The relay, which included Liz Wahl '10, Alexandra Americanos '10 and Danica Wuelfing '10, finished in sixth place.

Americanos placed fifth in the 200-meter dash and sixth in the 55-meter dash. She recorded a time of 26.54 in the finals of the 200 -- missing her own school record by .01 seconds. Americanos posted a time of 7.54 seconds in the preliminary heats of the 55 meters.

Kary Pardy '08 and Jess DeMichiel '08 broke their own school records in the weight throw and pole vault, respectively. Pardy finished fourth in the weight with a distance of 14.67 meters (48-feet-1¾). DeMichiel was fifth in the pole vault as she cleared 3.20 meters (10-feet-6). She has set a school record in the event in each of the past three weeks. DeMichiel also took fifth place in the weight with a toss of 14.51 meters (47-feet-7¼).

Meredith FitzPatrick '11 captured second place in the 1,000-meter run and fifth place in the mile. FitzPatrick, who competed in the NCAA Division III cross country championships in the fall, crossed the finish line in 3:07.82 in the 1,000 and recorded a time of 5:17.09 in the mile.

The 3,200-meter relay finished sixth and qualified for the ECAC meet at Harvard University on March 7 and 8 with a time of 10:09.59. Sarah Caney '09, Abby King '11, Ally Leighton '10 and Julie Meurer '11 were on the relay. The distance medley relay of Maddy Gunter '11, Katie Mann '10, Caney and King finished seventh in 13:20.79.

Hamilton gathered 56 team points as 15 teams scored at least one point at the state meet. The University of Rochester won the team title with 107.
