Hamilton College placed 10th at the 2013 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Outdoor Championships, which were held at St. Lawrence University’s Merrick-Pinkard Track on May 3 and 4.

RESULTS

Agne Jakubauskaite '13 placed fifth in the high jump and qualified for the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Championships with a height of 1.58 meters.

A number of Hamilton athletes nearly qualified for the ECAC championships. Rachel Cackett '13 missed the cut in the 5,000-meter run by seven seconds as she completed the event in 18:47.00 and took sixth place. Krystina Choinski '15 claimed eighth place in the 800-meter run in 2:22.64, which was less than three seconds off the qualifying time.

Adrian Walsh '16 took seventh place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:57.49. Hannah Lyons '14 finished 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and was less than five seconds away from qualifying for ECACs with a season-best time of 12:04.74. Emily Banzer '15 was right behind Lyons in 11th place in a time of 12:06.37.

Ithaca College easily took first place in the 11-team field with 243 points, St. Lawrence was second with 152.5 points and Hamilton finished with 27. The Continentals are off next weekend and will send qualified athletes to the ECAC championships at Springfield College on Thursday and Friday, May 16 and 17.
