The Hamilton College women’s tennis team picked up its 10th win of the season, blanking host Rochester Institute of Technology 9-0 on Thursday. The Continentals (10-3 overall) have won all eight of their northern matches, including three by shutout.
Five of Hamilton’s six singles entrants won in straight sets, including Rachel Friedman '15, who improved to a team-best 11-2 by sweeping her sixth flight singles opponent. Her doubles partner, Liz Detwiler '15, was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at fourth flight singles to raise her season mark to 7-3. The two combined to win 8-2 at first flight doubles.
The Continentals’ third flight doubles pairing of Claire Keyte '17 and Mira Khanna '15 is now 10-2 after winning 8-1. Khanna won at first flight singles and Keyte lost just one game at fifth flight singles to raise her record to 8-4.
Winnie Tang '17 improved to 8-2 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the second singles spot. Isabella Schoning '16 rounded out Hamilton’s singles winners, recording a three-set victory at the number three position. Schoning and Tang won 8-3 at second flight doubles.
The Continentals return to NESCAC competition on Saturday, April 4, hosting nationally ranked No. 9 Middlebury College at 10 a.m.
