Hamilton College's Liza Gergenti '14 (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley HS) was selected the Liberty League women's soccer rookie of the week on Nov. 15.

Gergenti was honored by the league for the fourth time this year. She played every minute in goal for Hamilton in the first and second rounds of the 2010 NCAA Division III championship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore on Nov. 13 and 14.

Gergenti stopped both shots she faced to post her fourth shutout in a 1-0 win against Virginia Wesleyan College in the first round on Saturday. She made a season-high 14 saves in a 2-0 loss at Johns Hopkins in the second round on Sunday.

Gergenti finished the season ranked fifth in the league with a 0.85 goals against average, tied for third in shutouts and third with 4.25 saves per game. She also posted an .850 save percentage.

The Continentals (10-4-3 overall) played in the NCAA championship for the third time in team history. Hamilton is 4-3-1 in the tournament, and has won at least one game in all three appearances. The 10 wins this year was the most for the Continentals since their program-record 16 victories in 2007.
