Hamilton College (4-4-3 overall) matched its highest-scoring game of the season and rolled to a 4-0 win over the Utica College Pioneers (3-10-2) at Hamilton's Love Field on Oct. 20.

Box score

Kendall Daly ’17 had a hand in three of Hamilton’s goals and finished with a career-best four points. Four Continentals scored a goal and Hamilton held the Pioneers without a shot for the game’s first 72 minutes.

Hamilton opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Becca Rees ’16 converted a rebound after Utica goalkeeper Jamie Enders ‘17 saved Daly’s initial shot. The goal was Rees’ third of the year.

Enders finished with 12 saves and helped keep the game a one-goal affair with a leaping save of Daly’s shot to the upper right corner less than two minutes after Rees’ goal. The Continentals led 1-0 at the half.

Morgan Fletcher ’17 scored her first career goal in the 70th minute, rocketing a 25-yard shot into the upper left corner after the ball came to her off a defender.

The Continentals added a pair of late goals that sealed the win. Daly scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 81st minute on a shot from just inside the box. She then set up Ali Clarke ’17 less than five minutes later with a through ball that Clarke put past Enders for her first career goal.

Liza Gergenti ’14 didn’t need to make a save to record her second shutout of the weekend and her fourth this year. Gergenti has collected 18 shutouts in her career.

The Continentals return to NESCAC play at home against Tufts University on Saturday, Oct. 26. Utica hosts Nazareth College on Saturday.
