The Hamilton College women’s cross country team placed 10th at the University of Rochester’s Yellowjacket Invitational Saturday. Two of the teams ahead of the Continentals in the team standings were Division I programs: Cornell, who won the team title, and Colgate.
Results
Hanna Jerome ’18 was the team’s top finisher, placing 34th in the 276-runner field. She completed the 6,000-meter course in 23:31.6. Lindsay Heyer ’17 and Mary Lundin ’19 posted respective times of 24:20.9 (59th) and 24:55.9 (92nd).
Elizabeth Perry ’18 (96th) and Alex Reading ’16 (98th) finished in 25:06.2 and 25:08.0, respectively. Perry's time was a personal record. Rounding out Hamilton’s top seven were Sarah Dimakis ’17 (136th in 25:55.5) and Grace Berg ’16 (145th in a collegiate-best 26:05.9).
The Continentals are idle next weekend. They return to action Saturday, Oct. 3, at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational, which will be run at Letchworth State Park -- the host of this year’s NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship race.
