Meredith FitzPatrick '11 came in 41st place for Hamilton College as the Continentals placed ninth out of 11 teams at the 2010 New England Small College Athletic Conference cross country championships held on Hamilton's campus on Oct. 30.

FitzPatrick's time on the 6-kilometer course was 23:58.6, and the winning time was 22:13.8. A total of 128 runners competed in the event.

Hamilton's Emily Potter '12 was next with a time of 24:42.2, and Abby King '11 was right behind in 24:48.4. Sara Scheineson '12 crossed the finish line in 25:12.6, and Erin West '11 rounded out the top five with a time of 25:15.3.

Nationally ranked No. 1 Middlebury College won its third consecutive conference title and 11th overall with a championship-record 26 points. Williams College was second with 49 points, and Amherst College claimed third with 88. The Continentals ended up with 289.

Hamilton is off until Saturday, Nov. 13, when the Continentals compete in the 2010 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional championships in Oneonta, N.Y.
