Hamilton College placed fifth in the open club eights at the Head of the Schuylkill held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 30.

Hamilton's entry in the open club eights finished fifth out of a field of 21 with a time of 16:00.38 on the 2.5 mile course, less than one second behind the U.S. Naval Academy. Race conditions included temperatures in the low 60s, with 5 to 15 mph winds.

Hamilton took 15th place in the open championship eights with a time of 16:22.07. The open fours "A" entry took fourth place out of 33, finishing with a time of 16:52.22, and the open fours "B" was 26th in 18:49.63.

Hamilton's novice four "A" took second place out of 13 entries with a time of 17:10.23. The "B" novice four placed fifth with a time of 19:49.22.

Catherine Florea '11 was coxswain for the open club eights. The rest of the boat included Rachel Johnson '13 at stroke, Fiona Hoffman-Harland '13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Katie Peterson '12, Pam Lewis '11, Shannon Finner '14, Keara Fenzel '14, Virginia Slattery '12 and Eban Lewis '11.

Kelsey Burke '13 was coxswain for the championship eights. The rest of the boat included Holly Bailey '12 at stroke, Allie Boyaris '12 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Becca Straw '14, Helen Higgins '13, Alice Dannenberg '11Leah Sorensen '14, Riley Smith '12 and Ally Hoetzel '14.

Florea was coxswain for the open fours "A". The rest of the boat included Bailey at stroke, Boyaris in the bow seat, Straw in 3-seat and Higgins in 2-seat.

Erin Luers '14 was coxswain for the open fours "B". The rest of the boat included Elizabeth Kelly '14 at stoke, Iris Greenquist '13 in the bow seat, Ally Fried '13 in 3-seat and Ellen Doernberg '13 in 2-seat.

Luers was coxswain for the novice fours "A". The rest of the boat included Fenzel at stroke, Finner in the bow seat, Hoeltzel in 3-seat and Sorensen in 2-seat.

Melissa Zorrilla '14 was coxswain for the novice fours "B". The rest of the boat included Kelly at stroke, Hannah Carlisle '14 in the bow seat, Samantha Schartz '13 in 3-seat and Tori Morrow '14 in 2-seat.
