Julie Diehl '93, Hamilton College's head women's basketball coach since the 1998-99 season, resigned from her position on Friday, Sept. 22, to pursue other opportunities.

A search for an interim head coach will start immediately. In the spring, the College will conduct a national search for a permanent replacement.

Diehl won 78 games in eight seasons at Hamilton. She was also co-head coach with Don Crist in 1997-98. The Continentals' record last season was 8-16 and the team finished fifth in the Liberty League with a 5-9 league record. Hamilton went 15-10 under Diehl in 2004-05 and earned a semifinal berth in the league championships tournament. The 15 wins were the most for the team in one season since 1992-93.

Diehl was an All-America selection at Hamilton in 1993. She ranks first in the program's history with 1,451 career points and 834 career rebounds.
