A historic winter season for Hamilton athletics featured record-setting achievements, national championship berths, and top individual honors.
Hamilton Teams Compete in NCAA Championships

The nationally ranked men’s hockey team captured its first-ever NESCAC title, securing an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships. The Continentals’ historic season ended in the NCAA Quarterfinals against Curry College, with a program-record 21 wins and a final record of 21-7-1.

The men’s basketball team celebrated a 20-win season, reached the NESCAC championship semifinals, and earned one of 21 at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament. The Continentals fell to Western New England University in the first round, finishing the year at 20-7.

Hamilton’s Latest All-Americans

Swimmer Nathaniel Taft ’27 earned All-America honors in three events after placing fourth in the 200-yard freestyle, seventh in the 50-yard freestyle, and eighth in the 100-yard freestyle at the 2025 NCAA Championships. He also claimed the 2025 NESCAC title in the 200-yard freestyle.

Track and field standout Keira Rogan ’28 was named an All-American following a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Carolyn Miner ’27, Jade Matthias ’26, Ashlyn Blessey ’26, and Chloe Lan ’28 secured second-team All-America honors with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Championships, breaking the program record in the event earlier in the season.

Hank Morgan ’25

Basketball’s Hank Morgan ’25 Named Jostens Trophy Finalist, Earns National and Conference Honors

Guard Hank Morgan ’25 was selected as one of 10 male finalists for the 2025 Jostens Trophy, which honors the most outstanding NCAA Division III men’s and women’s basketball players. The winner will be announced in late March.

Morgan’s impressive career concluded with numerous accolades, including selection to the 2025 D3hoops.com All-America Team and recognition as a first-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). He was named the 2025 NESCAC Player of the Year, earned NABC District 1 Player of the Year, and secured a spot on the 2025 NABC Men's College All-Star Game roster.

This season, Morgan averaged 21.8 points per game with a 53.7 percent field goal percentage, 82.1 percent free throw percentage, 48 three-pointers, 63 assists, and 39 steals in 27 starts. He finished ninth on Hamilton’s all-time scoring list with 1,585 points and sixth in career three-pointers with 172.

Luke Tchor ’27

Hockey’s Luke Tchor ’27 Named Finalist for Sid Watson Award

Luke Tchor ’27 is one of 13 finalists for the 2025 Sid Watson Award, presented by the American Hockey Coaches Association to the nation’s top NCAA Division II-III men’s ice hockey player. The winner will be announced in late March.

The left wing, also the 2025 NESCAC Player of the Year, ranks among Division III’s top 30 in goals and points per game. In 28 games, he tallied 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points, with five power-play goals and two game-winners.

Men’s Hockey Head Coach Honored

Rob Haberbusch, Hamilton’s head men’s hockey coach since 2011, was named the 2025 NESCAC Coach of the Year after leading the team to a 13-4-1 conference record, highlighted by a nine-game winning streak. The Continentals earned the top seed for the NESCAC Championship, which they ultimately won.

Last-minute thought: Even though squash is an individual sport, me < we is the mentality we approach every match with.

Pre-race ritual: I wear the same socks for every race.

Warm-up routine: I listen to the space jam theme song in the last couple minutes of the bus ride and then do the team warm-up with other teammates in the same event as me.

Mental prep: I tell myself I enjoy running in circles more than the people I'm racing against.

Sum up your season in one sentence: Sentimental! I am so incredibly proud of my teammates but also sad that it was my last indoor track season.

Academic and Sportsmanship Honors

A total of 115 Hamilton student-athletes earned NESCAC All-Academic honors for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and meeting other eligibility requirements.

Eight Continentals were selected to the NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team, representing each varsity winter sport.

Hitting His Spots and Getting the Call

On a rare day off from pitching for the Vermont Mountaineers last summer, Jack Eshleman ’25 was on his way to Burlington with his mom, who had traveled from their hometown in Collegeville, Pa., to watch as he played in one of the top summer baseball leagues in the country. His phone buzzed. It was former Continental baseball player John Shinn ’02.
