The Winter Army: The World War II Odyssey of the 10th Mountain Division, America's Elite Alpine Warriors, by Publius Virgilius Rogers Professor of American History Maurice Isserman, is the winner of a 2020-21 Ullr Award from the International Skiing History Association. The award was presented in a recent online event; Isserman’s award is presented at 57:12.
According to the organization’s website, the ISHA awards have been presented since 1993 to honor “honor outstanding creative works of ski history” and “include the year’s best creative works of ski history, including books, films, websites and other media projects.”
The Ullr Award is “presented for a single outstanding contribution or several contributions to skiing’s historical record in published book form.”
