Members of Hamilton’s Class of 2022 arrived on campus to register, move in, and meet their roommates on a soggy and humid Aug. 14.
Following a picnic lunch, students and their families were welcomed by President David Wippman, Dean of Students Terry Martinez, Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen, and Dean of Admission Peaches Valdes. Then they had the opportunity to meet with Hamilton faculty and administrators at an Open House.
An all-day rain forced the Opening Ceremonies inside to the Field House but new students and orientation leaders made the best of it, meeting classmates and trip leaders and participating in games and introductions.
Hamilton’s newest students are now preparing to go on their Orientation Adventure trips, where they’ll explore everything from photography in the Finger Lakes and entrepreneurship, to kayaking in the Adirondacks and volunteering at local non-profits.
Orientation activities will continue through Aug. 22, and Hamilton classes begin on August 23.
