The Hamilton College Continentals maintained their perfect spring trip record, posting a pair of non-conference wins in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday.
The Continentals (7-2 overall) defeated Calvin College 7-2 and topped Kalamazoo College, 6-3. Hamilton improved to 3-0 in Florida with two matches remaining there this week.
Three Continentals picked up four wins on the day. Bella Schoning ’16 upped her team-best singles record to 8-1, sweeping both her opponents at second flight singles. Schoning also teamed with Winnie Tang ’17 for two victories at second flight doubles, including a tiebreaker win against Kalamazoo that raised the duo’s season record to 5-5.
Tang posted two straight-set wins at third flight singles. Claire Keyte ’17 stretched her winning streak to three matches by winning twice at fourth flight singles. Keyte and Mira Khanna ’15 were third flight doubles winners against both the Knights and Hornets.
Sara Shaughnessy ’14 is now 8-3 this season after recording a pair of sixth flight singles wins. Rachel Friedman ’15 rounded out the Hamilton winners, sweeping her Calvin opponent at fifth flight singles.
Hamilton is back in action on Wednesday, March 26, with a non-conference match against Carthage College at 4 p.m.
