As many of you know, MTV plays a huge role in ROCK THE VOTE, which encourages young people to vote in the presidential election. This week MTV had Ed Gillespie, chairman of the Republican National Committee, speak on TRL. Since I intern for the GOP Convention, a bunch of us went up to Times Square to support the President and the party. The corner was filled with Bush signs and campaign supporters. Everyone was chanting and cheering; it was a great sight. There were a few protestors who were quickly escorted out because they didn't have a permit, but that was the only negativity present at the event.

In addition to the event itself I was able to observe a small part of the TV world because MTV was filming all of this live. I saw the host of the program practice his bit over and over before going live, and he is surprisingly short. Everything happened so quickly and the people behind the camera were so intense and almost rude to the spectators. Nonetheless, I got to see live TV in action.
