Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing Andrew Rippeon was invited to the 2015 First Book Institute June 7-13 at the Center for American Literary Studies at Penn State University. Now in its third year, the Institute aims to assist junior scholars in developing their first-book projects for submission to top-tier university presses.
The program featured presentations on academic publishing led by institute faculty and workshops in which participants assisted one another in preparing monographs-in-progress for publication. Rippeon was one of eight early-career professors invited to attend.
