Three Hamilton students presented papers on a panel during the annual Eastern International Region meeting of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) on May 2 at McGill University in Montreal. Jennie Wilber ’17, Shannon Boley ’17 and Talia Vaughan ’18 were part of a panel on “American Sacred Space: Constructing and Contesting the Sacred across Cultures.”

The panel discussed themes that included interfaith dialogues in Philadelphia, religious and ethnic diversity within the Catholic churches of Utica, and Native American sacred space in the northeastern United States.

The panel was chaired by Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Abhishek Amar. Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Seth Schermerhorn was the discussant.
