Bonnie Krueger

Roberta (Bonnie) Krueger, the Burgess Professor of French, recently presented a lecture titled “Hearing Voices/Speaking Out: Joan of Arc, Christine de Pizan, and the Making of France” at Colgate University.

The talk was presented on the occasion of a choral performance of Richard Einhorn’s “Voices of Light,” composed as the soundtrack for Carl Theodor Dreyer’s classic silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc.

Prior to Krueger’s lecture, Einhorn spoke about the creation of the choral work. Later in the evening, Colgate Assistant Professor of Music Ryan Endris conducted soloists, orchestra, and the Colgate choir in a performance of “Voices of Light” as accompaniment to a screening of Dreyer’s film.
