Assistant Professor of Physics Viva Horowitz was recently a guest speaker in the University of Oregon’s Physics Career Seminar Series: Putting your Physics Degree to Work. Her presentation was titled “Life as a professor at a liberal arts college -- and how to get the job!”
Horowitz’s talk focused on her career path as a scientist and educator. She discussed her 2015 job search that, after on-campus job interviews at five small liberal arts colleges, resulted in a tenure-track faculty position at Hamilton. She also shared some of her experiences as an early-career professor.
