BSS News Bites ranked DCT Industrial Trust Inc. President and CEO Philip L. Hawkins ’78, in the top 10 percent for his performance this past year. This New York Stock Exchange performance ranking was for the year that ended on May 2, 2016. During that time period, DCT Industrial Trust Inc. shares were up 27 percent. Hawkins ’78 joined the company in 2006 where he led its initial public offering on the NYSE and the subsequent growth of its operating business and development platform.
According its web site, “DCT Industrial Trust is a leading real estate company specializing in the acquisition, development, leasing and management of bulk distribution and light industrial properties located in high-volume distribution markets in the United States.”
Hawkins ’78, majored in Economics at Hamilton, where he was also involved as a member of the Judicial Board, Swim Team, and was a Delta Upsilon fraternity brother. He went on to receive his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Since his graduation from Hamilton in 1978, Hawkins has remained active as a volunteer and currently serves on the Board of Trustees.
