One Wednesday we attended the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Lorin Maazel was the conductor of the two-symphony performance. We heard Schubert's Symphony in B minor, "Unfinished" and Bruckner's symphony number 7 in E major. This was my first symphony, and it was very impressive. This is not the type of music I am accustomed to but it was very enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the second performance. The brass section in this piece was very powerful. Although there was nothing to actually watch, the music kept you attentive. I felt this was a great opportunity to experience timeless music performed by one of the best philharmonics in the world. I must say it probably would not have been on the top of my list of things to do when arriving to the city. But afterwards, I realized everyone should experience this moving performance.
