As co-principal investigators (co-PIs), Serrano and Wohnsen highlighted their successful application for the inaugural 2024 Being Human Festival grant from the National Humanities Center. This grant supported collaborative library programming at both Hamilton College and the Kirkland Town Library in Clinton, N.Y.

Their poster showcased five community events held over three days across two locations, engaging zinesters ages 6 to 46. In addition to outlining the festival’s impact, the presentation offered practical advice on how to write competitive national grants for library-based programming.
