Nat Faxon '97 has co-written George Clooney's upcoming movie The Descendants. The movie is an adaptation of the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings and tells the story of a land baron who tries to re-connect with his two daughters after a boating accident leaves his wife in a coma.  It was featured at Toronto's 2011 International Film Festival and will be released Nov. 18 in the United States.

 

Faxon and his writing partner Jim Rash met at the Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles and have written several pilots and screenplays. They are currently developing a television show for HBO as well as another screenplay for Fox Searchlight.  Faxon has also appeared in a number of films as an actor, including Orange County (2002), Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007), Beerfest (2006) and, most recently, Zookeeper and Bad Teacher. He has had both series regular and recurring roles in television shows such as Grosse Point, Reno 911, Joey, and Happy Hour.

 

At Hamilton, Faxon majored in theater and was a member of Sigma Phi.
