Hamilton College’s Ian Antonoff '16 won both his singles and doubles matches and the Continentals edged Hobart College 5-4 in a non-conference contest played inside Hamilton’s Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on April 10.

Hamilton (5-6 overall) trailed Hobart 4-2 midway through singles play, but picked up wins at the fourth, fifth and sixth singles flights, and rallied for the victory. The Continentals ended their losing skid at four matches. Hobart (3-11) is ranked No. 19 in the Northeast region.

Antonoff earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at sixth flight singles, and teamed up with Kolya Kerz '13 for an 8-6 victory at third flight doubles. The two last played doubles together on Sept. 7, 2012.

Jon Franzel '13 won his 32nd career match with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at first flight singles. Ben Stern '16 and Buck Reynolds '15 fought through three-set wins at fourth and fifth flight singles, respectively. Stern, who won his team-best eighth match, polished off his opponent, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. Reynolds lost the first set, 4-6, but rallied with scores of 6-1, 6-4 for his second singles win.

The Continentals are back in action with three home matches on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14. Hamilton takes on nationally ranked No. 19 Amherst College along with Wesleyan University on Saturday, and the University of Rochester on Sunday. Hobart returns home for a match against Vassar College on Saturday.
