Hamilton College defeated Colorado College and Colby-Sawyer College at the Founders Invitational held at Founders Park in Islamorada, Fla., on Jan. 11.

The Continentals (3-3 overall) topped Colorado College, 85-63, and Colby-Sawyer, 128-15. Founders Park is a long-course meters facility. Hamilton heads to Amherst College for a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Reid Swartz '15, Ian Nichols '13 and Taylor Hogenkamp '13 all won individual events, and teamed up with Alex Jones '16 to take first place in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 1:58.81. Swartz finished the 50 backstroke with a time of 29.63 seconds and Hogenkamp won the 50 freestyle in 25.62 seconds. Nichols completed the 50 breaststroke in a time of 33.55 seconds and Jones was just behind him in 33.66 seconds.

John McBratney '16 raced to first place in the 200 free in 2:07.72 and was part of the winning 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:48.70. Jeremy Trombetta '15, Andrew McWhirter ’16 and Fumi Asaga ’14 rounded out the relay. Julian Ziaggi '16 came in second place in 1-meter diving with a score of 250.60 points.
