KONA, Hawaii – Ben Delia '05 (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) won the 200-yard individual medley and the 500 freestyle to lead Hamilton College to a 120-65 victory against the University of Puget Sound in a men's dual swim meet on Jan. 8.
Delia's time of 2:05.41 in the 200 IM was more than 3 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, his teammate Ryan Connor '05 (Gaithersburg, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel). Delia finished the 500 free in 4:59.62. He was also part of a winning 200 medley relay team with Steve Morris '06 (Dryden, N.Y./Dryden), Jim Baker '04 (Weedsport, N.Y./Weedsport) and Aran Lawrence '05 (Belfast, Maine/Belfast Area).
Morris won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.89. Lawrence finished first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.72 and led off the winning 200 free relay team. That team also consisted of Jeff Wilson '04 (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford), Chris Warner '07 (Hingham, Mass./Thayer Academy) and Kevin Thompson '04 (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion College).
Thompson won the 100 free with a time of 49.95. He was second in the 50 free at 22.66. Tim Reed '06 (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) was the sixth individual winner for Hamilton. Reed finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.80.
The Continentals will travel to Middlebury, Vt., to compete in a dual meet against New England Small College Athletic Conference foe Middlebury College on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m.
