Hamilton College competed at the National Team Championships at Wesleyan University’s Rosenbaum Squash Center in Middletown, Conn., from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24.

The Continentals (7-14 overall) entered the weekend ranked 23rd by the College Squash Association (CSA), and competed in the “C” Division for the Summers Cup. Hamilton dropped a close match to No. 18 George Washington University by a 5-4 decision in a quarterfinal on Friday. In the consolation bracket, the Continentals fell 8-1 to No. 19 Drexel University on Saturday, and were edged 5-4 by No. 24 Connecticut College on Sunday. Hamilton finished the season ranked 24th.

Mac Pivirotto '15 posted three wins for the Continentals. Pivirotto swept his George Washington and Conn. College oppenents at the eighth and ninth positions, respectively. He took down his Drexel opponent in four games at the eighth position. Pivirotto has won eight of his last 10 matches.

Teddy Black '15, Marc Dudzik '16 and Peter Harrison '15 notched two victories each. Black topped his George Washington opponent in five games, including 11-8 in the fifth game, at the second position. He then defeated his Conn. College opponent in four games. Dudzik earned comeback victories against George Washington and Conn. College after he trailed 2-1 in both matches at the fourth position. Harrison, who leads the team with 11 victories, prevailed in four games against George Washington and swept his Conn. College opponent at the sixth position.

Hamilton will send some of its players to the 2013 CSA Individual Championships, which begins on Friday, March 1, and ends on Sunday, March 3, and will be held at Trinity College.
