Hamilton College men's hockey player Gus Katsuras '06 (Toronto, Ontario/Monarch Park Collegiate) has been selected a 2005 CCM First Team East Region All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Katsuras was named the Player of the Year in the New England Small College Athletic Conference in early March. He is Hamilton's first men's hockey All-American since Joe Baudo made the East First Team in 1997. Katsuras is the program's sixth All-American overall.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward led the nation with seven game-winning goals. Katsuras tied for second in the conference with 39 points and ended up second with 22 goals. He helped lead Hamilton (8-8-3 conference, 9-12-4 overall) to its 13th straight postseason appearance.

Katsuras was an all-conference second team selection the past two seasons, but broke through to the First Team this year. Katsuras' 22 goals, 17 assists and 39 points are a personal season-high with the Continentals.

Katsuras stepped into the national spotlight on Feb. 8 when he was selected the U.S. College Hockey Online/ITECH Men's Division III Offensive Player of the Week. Katsuras scored five of Hamilton's six goals in wins against Williams College and nationally ranked Middlebury College on Feb. 4 and 5, respectively. He was also named the conference's player of the week for that performance.

Katsuras became the 25th Hamilton men's hockey player to register 100 career points with one of those goals against Middlebury. He is 21st on the program's all-time list with 106 points, including 60 goals.
