Hamilton College finished in a tie for third place out of 10 teams at the NESCAC Men's Golf Championship Qualifier at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on Sunday afternoon.

Results

The Continentals advance to the 2016 NESCAC Championship in the spring along with Middlebury College, Trinity College and Amherst College. Hamilton qualified for the event for the seventh time in nine years since the conference moved to this format in 2007-08.

Middlebury captured first place with a 36-hole team total of 605 and will host the 2016 event. Trinity was runner-up at 617 and Amherst and the Continentals tied for third place at 628. 

Hamilton's Joe Tigani '18 continued his strong play this fall as he tied for third place out of 50 golfers with a two-day total of 152. Tigani fired a 3-over-par 74, which was the best round all weekend for the Continentals. He hasn't shot worse than 78 in 10 rounds this fall. Middlebury's Scott Guidotti was the individual medalist with a 4-over 146.

Bayard Geeslin '16 landed in 10th place after his 79 on Sunday gave him a 36-hole score of 155. Jeremy Benjamin '19 tied for 19th place at 160 and Ben Morgan '19 tied for 25th at 162. Hamilton's four-man team score on Sunday was 316, which was just four shots off their team score from the first round. The Continentals were alone in second place after Saturday's action.

Hamilton competes in the New York University Invitational at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J., on Oct. 10 and 11.
